This will be the last set of pictures to the Mystery House because someone in their infinite wisdom burnt the house down earlier this year. We heard that because of the fire #6 HWY was blocked for quite some time.

The pictures you are about to see are the charred remains of the old homestead. How anyone could destroy such a great piece of workmanship is beyond me.

We revisited the old home that we called the Mystery House on May 4/2003. We had Julie and Paul with us at the time these photos were taken. In the above photo you can see the remains of the home after the fire. When we first saw the place after the fire it saddened us all to see such a wonderful place destroyed.

Getting closer to the home you can see the damage from the fire. This photo shows where the sun room was. The front porch that had the roof over it had fallen apart and laid on the ground where the entrance was.

A closer view to show what remained beyond the sun room.......

Looking into the shell of the home, the inside was destroyed by the fire.

Looking inside the home toward the other rooms within its walls, nothing remained. You can even see the basement below.

I went around to where the entrance was for the basement and had a strange feeling I was not alone. In the picture there was some ecto mist forming outside by the basement doorway.

As seen in this photo nothing remained untouched by the fire. The basement was gutted as well.....

Looking up to where one of the bedrooms used to be, above the basement door, you can see more damage caused by the fire.

Cathy, myself and Marg went for one last look at the once grand old house and though it still seemed a bit spooky to see the burnt out shell, we wanted to pay our last respects. We marvelled at the workmanship that had gone into making the old stone house. And we mourned the loss. Such a shame to see such beauty wasted away into these charred remains.

Although many pictures were taken, only this one showed anything unusual. Cathy snapped this picture and after viewing it had to do a double take. In the left corner it shows what appears to be someone wearing a blue denim shirt. The only problem is, no one was wearing blue! I was wearing a black tshirt, and Marg was wearing a purple and brown jacket. And since Cathy took the picture that ruled her out.

If you look closely at the upper portion of the blue you can see the lilacs showing through. Very strange indeed.

Unfortunately the house has been totally levelled now and nothing remains except the lilac bushes that once graced the front lawn. We can't say for certain that there were any ghosts here, but we can say that we found some paranormal activity. We hope we have helped to preserve a bit of the grandeur of this old house.
